Nidhivan Sarovar Portico – Relaxing and Rejuvinating

Delhi has very interesting getaway
destinations that are not just refreshing but rejuvenating too. One such place
is Vrindavan. I would always suggest my readers to stay at Nidhivan Sarovar Portico. Here’s why

My Review –
The Hotel matches to the land of
Krishna. Barely 2 Kms
away from the main city, is born Nidhivan Sarovar Portico – a perfect conjugation
of mysticism and luxury.
The four star hotel is the first
luxury property in the holy town that has given guests a chance to devour
hospitality while worshiping Lord Krishna.
Located at Gopalgarh Tehra Road,
Vrindavan, Nidhivan Sarovar Portico boasts of a host of facilities ranging from
‘On-line reservation, rooms, besides other set of facilities for the religious
& corporate travelers visiting the holy city of “Vrindavan”.
First impressions

As you enter the gate of the
luxury hotel, you are beckoned with a small garden. Pots planted on each side
give an edge to the Traditional Indian touch. Step inside the hotel to get
acquainted with a warm welcome and chilled glass of rose water to satisfy your
thirst.

The lobby decorated with flowers and
paintings of Lord Krishna adds to the colorful entrance. This is just the
beginning of the enchanting appeal of Nidhivan Sarovar Portico.
The well lit
lobby enchants the guests with wide spacious sofas that are well seated on the
sparkling marble flooring of the hotel. Walk away towards the multi-cuisine restaurant
with ample seating that looks structured and spacious.
The General Manager greeted me
and joined in for a small conversation. It was wonderful knowing about him and
well travelled lifestyle. His passion and dedication towards the hotel was
indeed reflected in the warmth and grace of the hotel that was beaming with hospitality
and extra attention.
Lunch @ Nidhivan

The restaurant at Nidhivan has a
variety of vegetarian dishes from Indian, Continental & Chinese cuisines.
Every meal at Nidhivan reflects the purity and holiness of the temple city.
The
food made with less spices and fresh ingredients is pleasing to the mind, body
and soul. While the servers serve you in warm hospitality, you cannot hide the
satisfaction after taking the first bite.

The Thaali at Nidhivan is the
most spectacular thaali I have ever had. A variety of vegetables like lady
finger, pulses, curd, paneer, potato curry is served with rotis and rice. I devoured
the thaali and loved the subtle taste and divine aromas of the dishes. The lady
finger was my favorite. I loved my meal and moved towards my room.

The Room with a view

The 68 rooms of the hotel exude
the luxury amenities that are not to be found in any hotel in Vrindavan.
Spacious and comfortable, each room is brightly lit with natural sunlight
coming inside from huge windows.
With amenities like large, spacious beds with
comfortable mattress, plasma TV, writing desk, wardrobe with safe,
complimentary tea coffee sachets, Nidhivan spells luxury at par with the
highest standards.
The scenic view from the room is as mesmerizing as the
indoors. While I made myself comfortable with a nice cup of tea, the
breathtaking view outside pleased my senses.

The spacious washrooms in Nidhivan
are equipped well with the required toiletries. I preferred to take a warm
shower that helped me to wash away the dust gathered from the journey.

After a short nap, I went for a
property round. While the three floors are dedicated to rooms, the gym and spa add
to the magic touch of the magnificent Nidhivan Hotel. A Banquet Hall spread
over 4500sq ft can accommodate 250-300 people while its open lawn can cover
up-to 700 people. The spacious conference hall for
business meetings help corporate travelers to accentuate their business while
their families can take a tour of the revered city.
The Hibiscus Spa

Being a spa lover, I had to check
in the spa for some relaxing therapies. The spa is simple and maintained with a
well dedicated team of therapists and manager.  The menu has a wide variety of massages that
include Balinese, Thai and Ayurveda.
I chose the Balinese massage with
aroma oil. While I lied face down on the wooden table, the oil is massaged
on the legs and optimum pressure is applied on the heels that were in most
painful stages since the last few days. Thankfully, the therapist was doing a
fabulous job in applying the exact pressure on them.
She later massaged the legs in
circular motion and worked up the magic in just few minutes. While her fingers
were the masters of her talent, her warm hospitable attitude made me
comfortable and at ease.
The entire massage took about 45
minutes where each part was given the perfect time and pressure. I was already
relaxed and at ease. I felt fresh after a warm shower and had some green tea.The evening was planned for a
tour in the city and I looked forward to it.
An evening in the Vrindavan city

Vrindavan has about 4,000
temples, each unique in its relevance and beauty, including major temples like
Bankey Bihari temple, ISKCON Temple, Rangaji temple, Govind Dev Temple and many
others. A chauffer driven cab for the guests is inclusive of the package at
Nidhivan where a guide takes the guests to all the temples.
I was taken for an excursion into
the holy city courtesy the Nidhivan Sarovar portico. I visited the Prem Mandir,
Baake Bihari Mandir and found them stunning. Each monument was beautifully
carved.
The idols portray devotion and love that is beautifully depicted. A visit
to the Akshay Patra foundation was breathtaking. The organization supports poor
children their food and education.
After the enriching experience, I
moved back to the hotel where a fabulous dinner spread awaited me.The chef had
prepared some Chinese delicacies for me. The meal was delicious and I felt satiated.
A deep sleep was something I was
waiting for while walking towards my room. I helped myself with a warm cup of
green tea and minutes later, was asleep.
The next morning, I woke up fresh
to the sound of parrots and joy birds sitting outside my window. For a minute,
I couldn’t believe my sight. A vision and sound like this is rare in Delhi where the blaring
sounds of horns are the first thing you get to hear in the morning.
I freshened up and moved towards
their gym. The sun was peeping inside the gym as I started my exercise routine.
The fresh air on the terrace is very refreshing and the view looks beautiful.

I worked up an appetite and moved
towards the restaurant for my breakfast. The buffet spread at Nidhivan looked
very pleasant. Although there were varieties of dishes in display, I picked up
my plate and went for some South Indian options. The dosas and uttapam went
very well with the sambhar and chutneys.

After a hearty breakfast, sightseeing
was planned. This time I visited the Prem mandir and Nidhivan garden.
The beauty of Prem Mandir illuminates
in the day light. The marble flooring enchants the visitors and the statues reflect
the devotion and simplicity of Lord Krishna and Radha.

The gardens and the
statues captivated my attention, but the indoors were even more breathtaking. The
idols are decorated with ornaments. It was a visual delight as I looked at each
statue.

Next I moved towards the Nidhivan
temple and garden. It is a highly recommended place for Krishna lovers. The small
trees, the narrow path, the idols evoke a sense of belongingness. I loved the
experience and felt very connected with Lord Krishna.
A visit to the Baakey Bihari
mandir was my last temple visit. I managed to reach the temple and prayed before the deity. I also took some pedas on the way back while
moving towards the cab. The driver was a wonderful guide who helped me move
towards temple with ease.
There are other places also like
Kesari Kunj which is drive of 45 minutes from the city. I reached the hotel
back and took a short nap before having lunch. After a warm lunch of lentils
and vegetables I moved back to Delhi. It was very sad to leave the hotel but I
knew I would come back again to revel in the sanctity and divinity of Nidhivan
Sarovar Portico.
The hotel has beautifully managed to create a
pious and luxurious destination, especially for Pilgrims to Vrindvan/Mathura
and followers of Lord Krishna looking for a rejuvenating experience.
